So I'm staying in a hotel on Jefferson St in Lafayette. Go for a run this morning, checking out downtown, the campus, Girard Park, etc... During the return leg on campus, an old man shouts "That's disgusting and disappointing, you make me sick." I look to see if he is talking to me, and sure enough he is. Thats when it clicked, I was wearing this:
I haven't been in Louisiana much since graduation, and remember only the 2002 baseball regional as being competitive when I was in school. What gives?

My in-laws live near Southern Miss, never get a second look there when I run around campus (Lafayette's campus is nicer, btw). Shouldn't they have the same penis envy?

No, LSU is in a different state. USL always blames LSU for their woes, and has this perversion that one day they will be the 'flagship'. They live in a delusional world.

I lived in Lafayette in the 70s - it was the same back then. The USL people thought the oil money was going to get them into the big time, although they rarely beat Tech or McNeese.

never understood this.... I went to USL late 80's and they couldn't beat Mcneese St. then. I have always been a LSU fan first, it has always amused me how some of their fan base hates LSU.

USL still can't beat Mcneese in football.

I've lived in Laffy, my brother lives in Laffy, dated Laffy/ULL women, and work w/ULL grads. Their hate for LSU is pathetic yet amusing.

I was refused admittance to a local bar because I wouldn't take off my LSU cap for the bouncer. Granted it was a college bar but screw him.

I have a friend (good guy except for this one querk) in Laffy - my age (that's considered old on this board) who wouldn't hesitate to do that - I'm sure he's not the only one.
