How did Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin end up landing at Stanford? Seems a bit of an odd choice unless he was an academic. Which schools were in the running for him?

Stanford recruits nationally.
He's also technically from Gulf Breeze which is much nicer than Pensacola.

According to this article, Stanford was his only D-1 offer.
Don't know if that's true or not, but Stanford definitely recruits nationwide.

Baldwin first met Sherman on his recruiting visit to Stanford. Baldwin was a two-star receiver with only one Division I scholarship offer.
