I'm tentatively thinking about catching the Tuesday and Wednesday game on April 7/8 between the Cubs and Cardinals. How impossible are these tickets to get?

I don't think the bleachers will be finished by then.

They definitely won't be, and that sucks. I wanted to do Cubs one day and White Sox one day. No outfield bleachers and paying an assload for premium seats would suck

I've been in your situation before. I can almost assure you that there will be several people around a block or two of the stadium selling individual game tickets.

I drove past Wrigley Field the day of a game and me and a friend bought very good field level seats right from our car. I was at a stop sign and a guy on the corner had tickets to sell and came up to the car and did the tickets purchase right there.

I would think this would be similar to most MLB stadiums that these tickets are from corporate businesses that have not used their tickets for the particular game that day.

And finally, I was able to purchase the tickets for just face value. TIFWIW

^This, or you can wait until about the 1-2 inning and get them for under face.

I'm jealous.

If you can hold out to later in the summer, do it. I went in late August right before construction started and it was an immaculate day at Wrigley in the bleachers.

Flights are randomly cheap, too. I found $96 roundtrip flights to O'Hare from MSY for Mother's Day. We're going see the Cubs play the Brewers at Miller.

Anyway, good luck my man.

Very easy to get at the park or stubhub. I've been numerous times and never had a problem.

Mid-week games in April? Even with no bleachers and against their rival, these will be easy and cheap. Stubhub is your friend on these.

My wife and I live about 90 minutes away and like to pop in for 4 or 5 games a year. We always find them on Stubhub without any issue a week or two before.

The only exception is for when the South Side Shitheads come to Wrigley. We can usually find someone there the day of willing to part for face value.

You can get them out front, but check Seatgeek.com its like kayak.com for tickets. If you do decide to buy in front of the stadium, be sure to know which section/rows are obstructed view.

Also, if you can avoid driving, do so... traffic is a nightmare on Addison. It will probably be balls cold so prepare for that.

why don't you just buy some when single game tickets go on sale (usually early march)?

Based on what I usually see on TV, there is a huge drop in attendance between game 1 and game 2.

eta 2014 attendance for first 6 games.

If you plan on staying a few nights, rent a house/townhouse/etc off of VRBO from some one.

they have houses for rent, blocks away from wrigley. Some within a block or 2.

Why pay premium to stay in a hotel, when you can stay in a house, that has more amenities and is close to stadium and possibly down from the L.

That's a great idea, thanks.

I just sort of want to get out of town for a bit, have a friend who coaches and is on spring break, so figured I could see a Cubs and White Sox game. Not a diehard of any team, just enjoy watching baseball. Also want to visit Chicago very badly. It sucks with Wrigley under construction, but I still think it'll be a good time.

I've also already found plane tickets for only like $170 out of Nola

here is an example

figure $300 a night, for 3 bedroom, and if it's group of 3, $100 a night each, to rent a house isn't bad at all. .

several have views of the stadium

Cheapest ticket for opening day on stubhub is $89. Cheapest ticket for second day is $20. Just buy them now if you're not sure. Hell, maybe you could save $5 a ticket, but knowing you've got em ahead of time, don't have to deal with the a-hole scalpers, and can get in without having to miss a couple innings, would be worth $10 to me.

If the weather ends up being really nice, it's gonna be quite a bit more expensive.

I got tickets with ease for a game in September this year. Probably got them a couple weeks before the game. They weren't that expensive.
