Living in Florida my entire life hockey has never been big down here, so I've never followed a team. What team do you guys consider fun to watch? Example, I'm a Saints fan but I enjoy watching the Steelers because when Brown, Bell, and Big Ben are clicking they can light up the scoreboard.

Honestly if you live in Florida go with the Lightning. They'll be more available to be seen and they are a fun team to watch as well as a legit cup contender

I agree with that. I really like the lightning. Stamkos is one of the top players in the league.

If I wasn't a cbj fan is probably be a Caps fan. Ovie is my favorite player in the league.

TB Lightning is a great team for you to follow. Sunshine Network shows a ton of their games, and they're actually a pretty decent hockey team. If you get a chance get over to Pensacola and check out the Ice Flyers. Minor league team but fun crowd and good before/after game party scene on Palafox St.

Thanks for the info guys. I've been to one Ice Flyers game, it was pretty cool. Would love to attend an NHL game, I'm sure it is an awesome atmosphere.

A blue jackets vs edmonton oilers game is not much of an awesome atmosphere.

Now season openers/rivalry games/playoff games are incredible.

If the Stars aren't a top 4 team in the West this year, I demand Ruffs head on a pike. Entirely too much offense on that team for such a suck arse result last year - play mediocre defense and they're a juggernaut. Get Kari's GA average down to a 1.5 from a 3.0 and they'll dominate.

Was Sharp the only major addition to that team?

That top line will be filthy, but they seem super top-heavy.

Johnny Oduya as well to help the D which for some fricking reason still has Jord-AIDS. Klingberg resigned long term, which I was very excited about.

I was surprised to see how many NHL.com writers picked the Caps. To me, the Metro has five legit contenders to win the division which should make this year real exciting (and possibly tragic for somebody). But that sort of logjam makes any team coming out of there a bit of a crapshoot. The Bolts have a much easier division and are clearly the best team in the Atlantic (not to say the Sens and Habs suck or anything). But I think the Lightning are the odds on favorite to win the East. Their goaltending gives me pause, though.

I'd love to see the Stars contend out West, but woof. That defense is still pretty bad. I liked doubling down on offense, but if they can't find some defensive depth, they are going to get killed. They've got tons of blueline prospects, so they need to arrive quickly to not waste the Seguin-Benn pairing.

What do you think about the Sens? Will they build off of last year or fall back a bit? They are a team I am really unsure about.

I am still trying to figure out why Tokarski was sent out of Montreal this off season. I know he did not look amazing at times last year but they never got him in on a regular rotation.

Replacing him with Condon seems like a stretch.

At the risk of getting stoned by the Habs fans on here, I really like the Sens. I think the Habs are the team that haven't really improved themselves, while the Sens keep trying to improve. I think the Habs fall back a little, maybe enough for the Sens to pass them in the standings. Anyway, I think they will be playing each other in the first round of the playoffs. No one else in the division really excites me. Well, except for the possible collapse of the Bruins... that has me positively enraptured.

I saw that Julien is on the hot seat. If I was him I'd be pretty upset/annoyed. Seems like they sold the team out from under him (I'm sure it was due to cap issues) and he's going to be the fall guy.

I will not drill you just yet because I am not certain how far the Habs fall. They improved nothing really. The PP is dreadful and was for all of last year including the playoffs.

Cap was eating the Bruins alive so they had to ditch a lot of their stars like Lucic and Dougie, who was traded to Ottawa and signed an extension for less money than the Bruins offered. They missed the playoffs last year, and if they're sub .500 near the halfway part of the year Claude will be gone as well, even though player contracts and such aren't his responsibility.
