Orange Bowl Playoff - #1 Alabama (12-1) vs #4 Notre Dame (11-1)
Cotton Bowl Playoff - #2 Oklahoma (11-1) vs #3 Michigan State (12-1)
Sugar Bowl - Florida (10-3) vs Baylor (11-1)
Rose Bowl - Ohio State (11-1) vs Stanford (10-3)
Fiesta Bowl - Iowa (12-1) vs Clemson (12-1)
Peach Bowl - Navy (12-1) vs North Carolina (12-1)

I just have a weird feeling about UNC against Clemson. The committee will have fun if this happens and they have to choose between Notre Dame, Clemson, and North Carolina. Baylor would also get some consideration in this. Iowa would get no consideration at 12-1.

I don't see anyway Clemson/UNC is left out given the garbage happening everywhere else

Lol I can see UNC getting left out for sure.

They'd have one win against a top ten team, and that's it. Two wins against FCS teams, a loss to S Carolina.

I don't believe Florida is going to the Sugar Bowl if they lose to FSU and Alabama. It will probably be Ole Miss in that scenario

Also, Can FSU even make a New Years Bowl this year?

I think MSU beats Ole Miss in Starkville after losing tonight so Florida gets the SEC spot by default.

If Clemson beats UNC and FSU beats UF I could see a possibility of FSU as an at large in the Peach Bowl.

Sugar Bowl - Florida(SEC) (10-3) vs Baylor(B12) (11-1)
Rose Bowl - Ohio State(B10) (11-1) vs Stanford(Pac12) (10-3)
Fiesta Bowl - Iowa (12-1)(1 loss) vs Clemson (12-1)
Peach Bowl - Navy (12-1)(NonP5) vs North Carolina (12-1)

Assuming Iowa loses in the B10 championship game, the bold are pretty much set in stone.

I think FSU needs several very possible things to happen to grab one of the last two at large spots.

We need Oklahoma to win out to keep OKstate\Baylor\TCU. Oklahoma with two losses might be ranked higher than FSU. If Oklahoma loses, the Big 12 could end up with 3 New years bowl spots instead of 2.

FSU needs to beat Florida

We need Clemson to Beat UNC

I still think Stanford will beat ND next week. I have Clemson, Bama, MSU, and OU in the final 4.

You can make a case for both teams. Florida whipped Ole Miss, went to the sec championship, and Ole Miss has an ugly loss to Memphis. Ole Miss has beaten Alabama, would have wins over 2 teams that beat Florida (Bama and LSU), would bring a much more excited fanbase to the game (since they haven't been there in forever), and Florida has limped through November in a very ugly fashion.

In case any were wondering

quote:

The CFP Selection Committee ranks the top 25 teams and selects the four teams to participate in the semifinal games. Then, after the contract bowls are filled based on conference agreements, the Committee will assign teams to fill the remaining New Year's bowls. Each conference champion from the contract bowls (ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, SEC & Pac 12) has a guaranteed spot in its contracted bowl or in another New Year's bowl (Cotton, Fiesta or Peach) if the contracted bowl is a semifinal game and the conference champion is not selected to participate in a semifinal game. The highest ranked champion from the Mountain West, American, Conference USA, Sun Belt or MAC is guaranteed a spot in a CFP bowl and the remaining spots are filled based on the rankings of teams after the contract bowls have been filled.

quote:

Allstate Sugar - (Big 12 vs. SEC when Sugar is not a semifinal game)
Rose - (Pac 12 vs. Big Ten when Rose is not a semifinal game)
Capital One Orange - (ACC vs. highest ranked SEC/Big Ten non-champion or Notre Dame when Orange is not a semifinal game)
