I might agree. It took an utterly sloppy Saints game, unlike any other they'd played all year, with numerous turnovers, on the road, and the 49ers still needed a desperation score at the end to win. That was a tough loss to swallow esp after seeing the Giants win it all, which ties into one of your points...that Giants team was like 9-7 and was embarrassed by the Saints in Dec. The playoff system failed as bad as the BCS ever has.

A historically elite CFB team could give a historically bad NFL team a decent game.

If a historically elite CBB team played a historically bad NBA team in a 7 game series, the series would go to at least a 6th game.

Randy Moss at his best is the best receiver to ever play the game.

Tim Tebow is a shitty quarterback now and was in college. He was nothing more than a product of a system. Anyone else would have had the same success and numbers he did in that system.

Barry Bonds deserves to be recognized as the all time HR leader. No asterisk.

Tiger Woods is better than Jack

No to both of these. Especially basketball.

if you're gonna to put "especially' in front of one or the other, then it should go in front of football.

In BB, you just need five NBA-caliber players. And this happened.

What was it, 250 feet to left and right at the Polo Grounds.

I'm really surprised Chris Chambliss's home run isn't remembered more than it is. I think it's more of a 1950s New York Baseball nostalgia thing.

But yeah, it's at best the 4th best walkoff HR of all time behind Mazeroski, Gibson and Carter. The Giants didn't even go on to win the World Series that year.

The greatest postseason homerun ever was the homer in the bottom of the ninth inning in the seventh game of the World Series from Bill Mazeroski to propel the underdog Pittsburgh Pirates to victory over the favored New York Yankees in 1960.

Probably. But I don't think this is an "unpopular sports opinion". The best teams don't always win... see last year for example, I firmly believe DEN was the best team.

I don't think you can name one Elite CBB team that has produced 5 NBA caliber players that played together at the same time. Do you know how many of those good players on Elite CBB teams wind up in the D league or overseas?

The UK team that just won the national championship had Davis, MKG, Jones. That's 3 NBA players. Not sure what happened to Lamb, Teague or Miller. OSU had Oden, Conley, Daequon Cook and I forget who else but that's a solid team. Then UF had Noah, Horford, Brewer. Those are just recent great teams, I'm sure there are others. I agree with him that a historically great CBB team could challenge a historically bad NBA team.

The FAB five is the only team that I think would have a shot against a bad NBA team, maybe one of those UNLV teams from the early 90's. That OSU squad would get murdered, so would Kentucky team. Florida would hang around(bigs) but they couldn't win. Keep in mind bad NBA teams look bad because they are playing against the best talent in the world. Elite CBB teams don't face that kind of talent on a daily basis( especially in today's CBB). I don't think people realize how big the talent gap is between the pros and college.

7. Matt Ryan could QB an elite offense with the Saints under Sean Payton. Brees could not orchestrate a top 5 offense under just any coach in the NFL. That is more a comment on Payton's genius than it is a comment on Ryan vs Brees. Brees and Payton may be the best match in the modern era, with only Walsh/Montana in competition.

I agree 100%
