Kansas
Wisconsin
Virginia
Utah

I hate this final four. I pretty much always pick Kansas just because. Plus I refuse to pick Kentucky. So it's just a fun homer pick. I see nothing that makes me believe it won't be Kentucky coming out of that region.

I love Wisconsin. I feel good about that one. They are my champs. I really like virginia but Justin Anderson has me worried. And I fricking love Utah but it just doesn't feel right. Oh well, ya never know.

I am in a group that gives 4 additional points for any upset pick in the first two rounds. Definition of an upset is just the lower seed winning. I decided to double down on all of my big upsets, so I now have Kansas losing in the first round instead of to Wichita State. And Nova going down to LSU instead of Northern Iowa in the next round. I feel like my strategy could really pay off in the bracket, or I will finish dead last because the upsets will miss, and I won't even get the easy games that everyone else is getting. But I'm pumped.

My final four:

Kentucky
Duke
Arizona
Northern Iowa

That set up is kinda stupid. Explain to me why you wouldn't pick every 9 and 10 seed? And probably 11 and 12 as well honestly.

And yeah the Kansas pick is not worth the risk. Doesn't that just erase the Wichita state upset in the next round? Cause now you have a 7 over a 15 which is not an upset...

The way I see it, I'm rooting hard for Kansas to lose one of those two games. As long as they do, I get a great return from those two games. By adding the first game, I ensure that I also get upset points if they somehow lose that one. I can't get upset points for a 7 beating a 15, so if that were to happen, I would love to get them a round earlier.

I basically have every close game going to the lower seed in the first round unless I have the higher seed making it to the Sweet 16. Although I don't trust Georgia at all, so I stuck with Michigan State.

You get upset points as long as the team you chose to advance beats a lower seeded team, even if you didn't pick them to be in that game.

But you're not ensuring anything

There is like a 95% chance you are just giving everyone else in your pool a free point.

I agree it sounds insane. But if one out of three of my tournament upsets hits earlier than I expect, it will make up for itself. I just need main upsets to hit anyway. But I sure as hell want to be rewarded for my bold choices. If I like a team, but they end up playing garbage teams, I'm going to be frustrated that I liked them and I'm only getting regular points. I will drop some points to ensure that my upsets give me that boost. I will let you know how it works out. I have pretty much the same bracket with standard ESPN without the adjustments I made due to scoring, so I will have a good constant to compare to.
