Tonya Harding beat the shite out of Nancy Kerrigan's leg, leaving her unable to compete in the Olympics.

Tonya went on to win and had a successful life in boxing...

Just a few weeks before Ruth died he delivered a speech at Yankee Stadium that was piped into all the other MLB ballparks. I once heard Larry King talk about listening to it as a 14 year old at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn.
