I've known Pop since the mid '70s when he was an Air Force Captain, stationed at the Air Force Academy. I never got on the basketball court with him, but I've got some scars from his elbows on the racquetball court.
I saw him a couple of years ago at the Academy and much to my surprise he remembered our battles on the racquetball court. He's had a hell of a ride with the Spurs.

My brother-in-law just commissioned from the same squad (or whatever they call their outfits up there) that Coach Pop was in. Hope to meet him one day.
