Reuben Randle
Randle Mackey

Thought Steven Ridley could play at LSU (or any college) but didnt think he would start at RB for the pats.

Diarse (even though he did clock a surprisingly high 40 time at a camp in Ruston)

I watched all of those guys in person or on TV and thought they were all great. I also watched Ryan Harrow (overrated), Trevor Gaskins (lots of hype but I knew he wasn't very good) Robert Morrison (very meh) I played with Ralph Sampson III and always thought he could make it if he didn't always get hurt.

ETA: I get what you are saying now. But still I believed they could and they did

Jamie Spencer

I was playing QB when Spencer was at Ouachita. Talk about a man. Going to ND killed his career. I remember when Lou Holtz came to the school to talk to him. It was while we were lifting weights and you had guys putting on 2-3 more plates than they squat and they did this while they were at a bench station. Funny shite. Hell myself and the other QB never even works out and we still ran in there to do a few curls.

Marshall Faulk...

Because as a true freshman he ran for almost 1500 yards and people say...well it was the WAC...but in the first game of his sophmore season I watched him in person run all over USC...27 times for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns...8 yard per carry.

He was great and good size from day one.

Oh and I would like to add the Milton and Wheeler basketball teams. Those kids were raw.

Randy Moss (I think that most uber-elite receivers are ready for the pros right out of HS...but Moss DEFINITELY was)

Deion Sanders/Eric Berry/Ed Reed (I think that most uber-elite DBs are ready for the pros right out of high school...Berry was the best player on UT's team the first day he showed up for practice...no doubt about it)

Marcus Dupree
Earl Campbell
Jamal Lewis
Herschel Walker

Magic Johnson (among LOTS AND LOTS of other basketball players)

Barry Switzer has said Earl Campbell was the only player he ever saw that could go from HS to he pros

No, he quite clearly said Earl Campbell was the only other player besides Marcus Dupree that he saw who could have played pro right out of HS. Watch the Doc, homie.

Sean Taylor didn't even start at Miami as a freshman. If I remember correctly he didn't even really breakout until the second half of 2002.

What do we know about the 2001 Miami Hurricanes that makes your comment here completely irrelevant?

Merlin Olsen
Charles Edward "Joe" Green

just too many to name, especially years ago. It's much tougher in football now b/c of the strength and conditioning programs / technology.
