This. i saw the renderings a couple of months ago for the first time and was scratching my head then. It's a pretty terrible looking stadium.

I think the stadium looks fine... no different than any of the other "modern" stadiums built over the last 15 years or so... much better looking than say the new Soldier Field. I like the look of the press/luxury box side... unique.

Looks similar to the Hawks arena with the wall of suites on one side. Is that an open air grass park on top? If so that would make a pretty cool beer garden area.

ETA: Example of the two different sides of Phillips Arena.

I am guessing that consolidating all of the suite services on one side saves money on kitchens and staff.

the stadium's app will also alert you when its time to cheer, boo opposing teams, and suck your neighbors cock.

Yep. Not to mention half the posters talking shite about the stadium aren't Saints fans anyway.

I'll reserve final judgement until all the aesthetic touches are done, but so far

It also allows the upper deck seating to be closer to the field (court at Philips) level.

Who really gives a crap about how a stadium looks?

You're not there to fap to it.

It's about access and amenities and quality of experience.

The stadium has WIDE OPEN spaces and concourses - and lounge areas - and standing room - you can breathe in the stadium instead of packed like sardines in a Dome or stand in broken down bathroom lines.

The luxury boxes will probably be the best in the world.

It might look like crap but I think the point is for the fan experience.

Fans who actually go to the game vs. people who just look at pictures at it - are going to love it.

Most people who aren't even there and therefore don't matter.

I prefer the enjoyment of the stadium vs. what it looks like.

Comfort over aesthetics.
