Why now after a decade. The timing seems suspious. Was JoePa aware that this was how it was going to go down. Was the deal, ok joe, we will let you get the record but you wont finish the season.

I've been wondering about that since the moment I heard about all this

Yes.
Penn State knew and waited to press charges against itself so that the head guy in charge at Penn State could get the wins record before he fired himself.

There was a story about this by one of SC's writers on our rivals board.
Pretty much saying that PSU and FSU sacrificed too much in obsession for Bowdens/Paternos win total. Obviously what happened at FSU doesn't even come close to whats at PSU. But he made the point that FSU offered to forfeit national titles in other sports along with other concessions to get the NCAA to give him back those 14 vacated wins.
The point of the article is that unlike Bowden who was forced out among recent violations and now Paterno with this supposed cover up that Spurrier, though he has an ego like any other head coach, will retire with his dignity in tact. This also comes from Spurrier recently saying he has 3 more years in him (leaving here with an even 10 years)

great question.
No its not, you really think they waited 9 years then the week after he breaks Eddie Robinson's record they release what they know. If it was up to the AD & President none of this would have ever come out.
