They've had some great interviews over the past few months. Bill Walton,Donovan McNabb, Paul LoDuca, Jim Rome and Brent Musberger were some of my favorites.

They've redeemed the interview with Mike and Mike FairPlay

This Kareem Abdul jabar interview might be their worst interview ever
I was just starting the interview when I got to work but as they were setting it up I was thinking 'this is going to suck'

It's hard to beat the AJ Green and Addison Russell interviews.

Green was so bad that it was funny. This was just like a bland ESPN car wash interview

Left off the Blake Griffin one from last week. That would probably be a good episode for a new listener...they had some good Coach O references in that one as well.

Blake griffin is always great and Hank Azaria was something a little different for them and it worked well

Their interviews pretty much have 3 potential outcomes.
1. The guest gets it and plays along. Those are usually the best
2. The guest doesn't get it, and that actually makes it funnier. The best example is Marlins Man.
3. The guest doesn't get it and he/she is too renowned to push it too far. That was the KAJ interview. Big Cat tried to push it a few times, but it was pretty clear that Jabbar wasn't really going to play along.

Option 4.) whatever you want to call the Bill Walton interview
Posted on 5/17/17 at 2:22 pm to wildtigercat93
Griffin, Nichols, SVP, Florio, Chris Long, Titus, and Mike Portnoy Esquire are usually always fantastic guests.
I'm sure there are a few others I'm missing. It's amazing people still come on and don't get the shows premise. Russell being clueless was amazing given how established they were and the fact Big Cat is in with most of the Cubs roster.

Yeah, I would think all Bill Walton interviews have one potential outcome. He doesn't really give a shite what is asked, he's going to say whatever pops into his head. I think I'm one of the few AWL that hated the Walton interview.

I was not a fan. Think it's the only interview I've ever skipped. Didn't listen to part 2

I'll probably skip the rest of the interview on my way home. If you're like me it's the second interview you've ever skipped... Michael and Jemele being the first.

I thought Smith was fine. You could hear Hill being an agitated sarcastic a-hole multiple times. I think PFT dropped one of his "persecuted white male" lines and you could hear the disgust in her reply.
I wish they had completely burnt bridges with ESPN so they could have roasted the show more.

My favorite all time is Death. I still listen to that first one with Death from time to time. I cry everytime.

I was dying when he answered the question about Woodens ears seriously. Not sure what they expected, Kareem has to be the most serious athlete ever.

It's the only "sports" listen that has moments that put me close to tears of laughter since SVP left the radio.

When she says that another baseball player will die soon and Big Cat immediately replies with "Oh god, it's Tommy Lasorda" might be the hardest I've ever laughed during an episode.
I don't know how they were able to contain themselves during that interview.
