When the Denver Broncos... Elway and Kubiak... didn't do much to try to keep him we should have known something was up.

4 years and $72 million dollars. Basically assures he will be here longer than the the 2 that were most responsible for bringing him in. O'Brian and our idiot GM.

Don't even get me started on the Cushing payraise and contract extension following major knee surgery.

Yeah we were a bit more reasonable. Once the $17-18M number was floated around out there, we backed off of that with quickness.

Yep, 3 year at something like $42M -$45M.

We did 4 years at $72M.

Denver got outbid by roughly 4 million per year, and thank God they did.

I think O'Brien will be/is a good coach. He is being held back by injuries and no QB.

To me it's pretty simple.

The Broncos won the superbowl with someone who could barely throw a football. They knew they would be a superbowl contender again if they put a guy at QB that just didn't make mistakes. There was absolutely no reason for them to even compete for Osweiler.

He's fine. Looks like a QB back there. Did they overpay? Sure everybody does.

The alternative BEST option was Carson Wentz. That would have needed a couple draft picks and a crystal ball though.

They deserve this for not drafting Carr. I hope Rick Smith is their GM forever

He would have done fine in Denver. Wasn't worth anywhere near that kind of money. Reminded me of the Cassel and Flynn situations in previous years. Totally unproven. Terrible pickup. Lamar Miller looks awful in their system as well.

Only half of his contract is guaranteed, or two years, $37m to be exact. Still a ton of $, but if Os isn't getting it done next year, they can move on then.

Of course, it will mean they will be QB shopping again. But I've already accepted that they will be.

Main problem with Osweiller I saw today was he thought he was gonna get murdered every play. Even when he wasn't getting hit he had happy feet and was trying to get rid of the ball asap.

I knew it was a big risk, and of course I was skeptical as to why the Broncos weren't super aggressive about him. It was weird, or I thought I hadn't heard about the fallout.

I really thought O'Brien was smarter than this, and it seems its been really bad, really fast.

The Cushing thing is also a head scratcher. The guy has been injured every season. I was shocked he's still playing and starting.

Either way, the division looks manageable, although I might put the Titans and Colts over the Texans right now.

We'll see, but at least Lamar Miller is playing decent given his circumstances.
