that's pretty sad for a Big 6 bowl. Did the schools sell out their allotment?

i'd be going if i wasn't going on a cruise with my wife for NYE (/humblebrag). it's truly hilarious.

but what incentive do neutrals have to go to this game? both fan bases sport some ugly arse women.

I've been to 3 out of the last 5 Sugar Bowls.

Never paid more than $25.

Got really cheap tix for that Mich/VT game too- something like $10 for Terrace 50 yard line.

Is this surprising? It isn't exactly easy for either of the fanbases to get to MIA and obviously the locals aren't gonna go.

no it isn't. stubhub's fees are actually not bad. and now they include them in the price. so that's like a $1 ticket with $2.50 fees, meaning the seller doesn't even make a cent.

Rural MS to a Miami is a haul.

Tech's football fanbase isn't hardcore like other schools, either.

I think MSU sold close to their allotment tho.

the game being on NYE is probably partly to blame. there are a lot of competing options for NYE activities, especially in miami area.

Mississippi State, playing its first Orange Bowl since 1941, has sold 11,000 of its 15,000 allotted seats, and Georgia Tech has sold a little more than half of its tickets.

Bowl game face value ticket prices are pretty absurd. I think a lot of people are immediately turned off by that and dont even bother buying on the secondary market.

Do they have public yacht cruises I'm unaware of?
