One of, if not the toughest road to a title in the history of College Football
Posted by KosmoCramer on 1/8/15 at 11:47 pm251
Over the course of three games, Ohio State will have faced a supreme run heavy team with the Heisman runner-up (Melvin Gordon III, Wisconsin) who held the most rushing yards in a game title in FBS history, fastest player to 2,000 yards in FBS history, among a host of other conference and school records. Shut him down.
Then they took on Alabama with it's pro-style offense led by the best one-two punch of running backs in the country that were eligible all year, and the Hiesman 3rd place vote getting player in WR Amari Cooper who holds basically every Alabama WR record and is considered one of the best WR in the history of the SEC, as well as the SEC-speed laden fast and strong defense under the tutelage of one of the top 5 college football coaches in the history of NCAA footbal Nick Saban and his fiery and detail demanded mentality.
Ohio State knocked them in the mouth over and over and finally knocked the champ to the canvas after a 12 round title fight with a KO 85-yard run between the tackles.
Finally, Oregon. One of the most impressive QB performances over the course of a season every assembled with Heisman trophy winning QB Marcus Mariota who is looking to become the only played in CFB history with a 40+ TD/INT ratio coupled with all the stats, records and honors that come with being the Heisman trophy winner and one of the best to ever play the game.
The contrasting styles of the three teams coupled with the players that are at the pinnacle of college football excellence, makes the road that Ohio State will have traversed over the last month and a half of the college football season, potentially the greatest title run in the history of the game.

2011 LSU was the greatest run up to the national championship game, probably ever.

Having been to Columbus recently, I'm pulling for y'all. You need some happiness. That place makes Starkville look good.
