Obviously they would get another guy to go alongside Durant, but a scoring guard isn't what they need.

It doesn't matter...heat win next 3 titles...they will figure it out

Why not?

Westbrook is one of the best guards in the game. Right now, the only guards I have over him are Paul, Kobe, and Wade. Dwill was ahead, but he fricking tanked this season.

Paul,Parker,Nash,rondo....compliments...

Ross,Westbrook,Jennings, deron Williams, all guard who need 20 or so shots a game...

Plug in 1 of those compliments or a cheaper version(maynor) and you have a nice blend.

I've played on a team personally that had a similar problem. Our PG was probably the best guy on the team, things happend and he left the team(moved out of state)...we plug in a soph PG and he just plays his role and everything clicks...

I just think OKC could be successful without Westbrook and with another stud instead of him to compliment Durant.

Can't find it now but Lebron is first in the NBA in points accounted for (scoring + assists).

Guess who's #2? Westbrook.

He's also top 11 in PER behind only Tony Parker who has the highest PER of any PG in the league.

I don't know. I'm pretty sure Westbrook says nice things to Durant all the time. I doubt someone else would say anything all that different.

All jokes aside. I still think they need another combo guard to complement them and settle the game down when Westbrook gets a little out of control. Or maybe just a strong 3 point shooting PG. I don't think they'd be better without Westbrook though. Durant gets a little passive sometimes, and/or it's tough for him to get the ball inside the 3pt line because he's lightweight. They're still a young team though, but I don't think this will be their year.

I always had him at the top of my list for years. He has disappointed me.

Well, Chris Paul is always the #1 PG by a lot. Then Dwill, Rose (RIP), Westbrook, Parker, Nash, Rondo... (this list would be a year or so old).

I forgot about Tony Parker in my earlier post. Seems like he just gets better every season.

PER is tailor made for a player like Westbrook. He's an inefficient volume scorer usually. His TS% is 52%. That's pretty awful for a "superstar." The biggest reason he ranks so high is because he's 4th in FGA per game. As much grief Kobe gets for being inefficient, he's still a 55-57% TS% guy. He's still a really good player, but I wouldn't use PER as a justification for that.

Aldridge would go good with Durant.

I'm not saying Westbrook is bad or anything of that nature, just saying that mix may not win championships...that is all

People seem to forget just how young Thunder still are:

KD: 24
Westbrook: 24
Ibaka: 23

These guys technically aren't even in their prime yet. And they've literally improved every season, both individually and a a team.

Stay tuned.

Westbrook gets a lot of flak but sometimes he has to put the ball up because Durant goes into passive mode.

The Heat's ball movement is way better than the Thunder's. It was literally not even close tonight.

They pick and roll, force guys to double on LeBron or Wade, and then they swing the ball for open looks and they have shooters who can knock down shots. They have veterans who can make the extra pass and make smart decisions, too.

Now, not every team in the league has the players to be able to do this, and get good shots nearly every possession. You need to have that guy who demands double teams on a high number of possessions, especially in pick and roll situations. However, the Thunder are a team with enough talent. They have a guy (or two) who can attract double teams, they have a shooter or two, they have big guys like Ibaka and Collison who are able to pick and pop.

But they don't move the ball. Not nearly enough, especially against the elite teams who can defend that they'll see deep in the postseason. Durant and Westbrook don't play well together. They don't play off of each other. That's not necessarily either guy's fault, but there is so much isolation basketball with that team.

Now, I still think the Thunder are going to make the Finals. They have so much talent and explosiveness. However, they can't beat the Heat in a series, at least not how they are playing right now. The Heat are way too good on the defensive end of the court, especially when you don't make them work as hard. If the Spurs can make it to the WCF, they could potentially give OKC a lot of trouble.

Tonight it was obvious that the Heat have the superior coach. The Heat moved the ball and ran their sets and got whatever they wanted. Twice on inbounds plays with under 3 seconds on the shot clock the Heat got an uncontested dunk and layup. OKC's offense just goes through slumps because the ball doesn't move. The Heat are too good defensively for that high school crap.

Haven't been on in a while. Might crank it back up a bit more now that we're getting into the second half of the season.

But maybe not.
