I was downvoted to hell in September for my bad predictions.

LINK

quote:

Panthers 11-5
Falcons 10-6
Saints 10-6
Bucs 7-9

What you got?

New predictions:

Falcons 6-10
Saints 6-10
Panthers 5-10-1
Bucs 4-12

Fixed the math

Would be funny if the Seahawks have to play in New Orleans against an under .500 team.

I would rather the saints get good draft position instead of get slaughtered by the NFC East runner up at home in the playoffs. Saints 6-10 beating Panthers and Falcons

All teams refuse to play their remaining games, forfeit the non-divisional games and tie the rest. Saints win the division by a fraction of a win.

Saints 4-9-3
Panthers 3-9-4
Falcons 4-10-2
Bucs 2-12-2

Falcons have the hardest schedule. They might not win another game.

vsArizona (L)
@Green Bay (L)
vsPittsburgh (L)
@New Orleans (L)
vsCarolina (W)

I see the Falcons finishing 5-11

Saints:

@Pittsburgh (L)
vsCarolina (W)
@Chicago (L)
vsAtlanta (W)
@Tampa (W)

Saints are 7-9

Panthers:

@Minnesota (W)
@New Orleans (L)
vsTampa (W)
vsCleveland (L)
@Atlanta (L)

Panthers are 5-7-1

Bucs:

Lose out finish 2-14

I think the Falcons and saints tie at 6 wins. 1-1 head to head. I don't know who wins the division if that happens

Read the Saints Talk. It's a vast conspiracy so that at least 3 of the 4 teams end up with top 10 draft picks. All of the teams are trying to out-tank one-another. Here's the OP of that thread:
quote:

How bad has the NFC South been this year? They've been absolutely putrid, especially in non-division games. There's a lot of talent in this division. Heck, the Saints have been a perennial contender since 2006, the panthers are fresh off a 12-4 season, Atlanta isn't far removed from having the #1 seed in the NFC, so what went wrong? The simplest answer is...collusion.

The idea came after the 2010 season when Seattle went 7-9 and made the playoffs as a 4 seed. What happened was that the rest of their division all received top 15 draft picks. That draft served as a springboard for that division, making it what it is today.

So why all of the non-division game suckage by the NFC South? If the NFC South tanks so low that all of the teams finish among the worst records in football, than only one team has to make the playoffs and get a poor draft pick. The other three teams can be assured of a top 15 draft pick. The teams have even taken it a step further, by all playing so poorly, that all 3 "losers" are nearly assured a top 10 pick. The only "loser" in this scenario, is the actual division winner.

So why would all 4 teams go along with it?
At this point, none of these teams really want to make the playoffs. They're all purposefully tanking, attempting to out-tank each other to get those premier draft picks. How else could one explain Tampa Bay being 1 game out of the number 1 draft position yet only 2 games out of 1st place? Why would Benson donate all of that money to the NFL Hall of Fame if not to secure that #1 pick?

Trust your eyes, not your brain. You eyes do not deceive you, no division could be this bad. This Saints team can't be this bad, neither can the Panthers, Falcons, or...ok, Tampa may really be that bad, but that's besides the point.

Trust your eyes. Is it physically possible for an entire division of NFL teams to collectively put forth such putrid efforts, or is it more likely that they are all engaging in NBA-esque tanking on purpose. Search your feelings, you know the truth.

I don't know why I keep getting surprised at the dumb threads on that board.

And to the next post...I don't know about tiebreakers. I'd assume it would go to division record but assuming we both beat the Panthers at home we would both be 5-1 there.

I will root for any NFC south team who goes into the playoffs.

I want to watch the world burn after a 5-11 or 6-10 team makes the superbowl.

I read a stat yesterday saying at this point, the Panthers could mathematically win the super bowl with a losing record. Finish 5-10-1, win the division, sweep the playoffs.

9-10-1 super bowl champs
