I'll be over the HOF game after the first quarter and sick of the preseason by the time all the teams have played their first preseason game but who cares?! It's back!

Time for the NFL owners annual moneygrab known as preaseason football.
It's an awful tease but I will take it, too.

with all the OTA's and stuff going on now, the gap between the super bowl, the draft, and training camp seems to not be so bad. It's just after the NBA finals are over, all you have is shitty baseball and whatever else. I am so glad training camp has started.

The HOF speeches are pretty cool, I've been to Canton and seen the Hall of Fame, the game is pretty useless but it is football.
Cooperstown is still on my bucket list.

LOL, NFL preseason
It's a joke
The bigger joke is people who get out the jerseys and face paint and all the gear for a preseason game. I was at a sports bar in Plano and there was a Cowboys preseason game going on and people were there watching the game in jerseys and all acting like it was a real game.
And the crowd kept showing shots of people with face paint or body paint. For a preseason game.

Disagree about MLB being boring this summer. A lot of young talent in the game right now. Nice to see Astros and Royals become relevant after being so bad for awhile

Baseball in general is a boring arse sport. Regardless of talent, it's just a snooze fest. It's only good for sportscenter highlights.

I remember a couple years ago the Texans were playing their last preseason game at the same day/time as the first college football game of the season, Vanderbilt vs SC.
I go up to a bar with a bunch of Vanderbilt friends/alums. Probably 10 of us.
the bar refused to put the Vanderbilt game on. said they had to keep it on Texans.
we left to another bar who also refused to put Vandy v SC on.

It mostly gets interesting when teams lock up playoff spots at the end of the reg. season and during the playoffs.

You really expected a bar in Houston to put on a shitty Vandy vs USCe over a Texans game?

Texans preseason game. And the week 4 preseason game which is utterly meaningless.

August still generally sucks, but...
-Hard Knocks on HBO starts
-fantasy football drafts are fun
-3rd preseason game does provide some insight

That was 2012. I remember that game and night, it was Labor Day weekend and I was in Vegas for that weekend and particular night. Las Vegas books don't frick around - they didn't have any of that preseason NFL shite on that night. It was straight college football
That USC-Vandy game was the only bet I lost that night. I had USC -6.5 and they didn't cover... but I won every other bet I made that night. I remember having to stay late because Minnesota-UNLV went into 3 overtimes and I needed a UNLV cover to complete a 6 team teaser and 3 team parlay and they covered

It's still better than no football.
You seem like a enjoyable person to be around.

I don't mind preseason games, but training camp is so stressful
You get an entire month of hopeing your favorite team and or fantasy team doesnt get destroyed by injuries

So, big question, which would you rather watch on TV:
NFL preseason game featuring your team
OR
College football regular season game between 2 unranked, non-AQ conference teams?

the college football... they're trying to win
or more accurately it means something if they don't... bowl or no bowl, coach on the hot seat maybe

Yea, hate seeing people have fun.
