Since my boy WCA is slackin'...

*All times U.S. Central Time*

BYE Week: Utah, Oregon St.

Saturday, October 3rd

Washington State at California 3:00 pm PAC-12 Network / PAC-12 Video
Cal looks like a pretty good football team right now, and Wazzu hasn't been impressive, but the Bears had better be on upset alert. The Cougs have pulled the odd upset before, and The Pirate would love nothing more than to swash-buckle Cal on the road.

Arizona State at UCLA 6:30 pm FOX / FS Go Video
The Bruins should cruise through this game if QB Josh Rosen turns in a decent performance. Would Mora leave his starters in during a 4th Qtr blowout?

Oregon at Colorado 9:00 pm ESPN / WatchESPN / ESPN News (overrun if needed)
A gut check game for the Ducks, but one they should win against an improving (but still growing) Colorado squad.

Arizona at Stanford 9:30 pm PAC-12 Network / PAC-12 Video
A fascinating match-up for Rich Rod's Wildcats against the bulk and brawn of the Furdies. Well it would be if Arizona QB Anu Solomon was healthy. He isn't. Stanford will choke the life out of this game with a healthy dose of McCaffrey and ball control.

Thursday, October 8th

Washington at USC 8:00 pm ESPN / WatchESPN

Washington's really not all that bad. USC has trouble stopping the run, has had D-line deficiencies and Huskies RB Dwayne Washington put up over 100 yds on Cal last week. He also put the ball on the ground though, and the one thing the USC defense did really well last week was to create turnovers. SC is finding its stride on offense with QB Cody Kessler hitting WR JuJu Smith-Schuster and part time WR/CB/Ath Adoree Jackson for big plays. Trojans win going away, if they can stop the run.

UW is definitely improved, but their next 3 games are @ SC, vs. UO, @ Stanford.

They will likely be 2-5 after that stretch.

They'd better at least show improvement, or Coach Pete's seat will feel the heat.

Huskies only have 18 juniors and seniors on scholarship.

They knew this year would be tough, but I thought they played Boise and Cal well.

The Huskies don't have a lot of talent on offense though. They have one of the worst receiving cores in the pac and the oline is so young.

Very best scenario is 6-6 for them, but they likely aren't bowling.

Yep, we were well aware that this was going to be a rough year. The defense has played really well. The offense is another story. No way will Petersen be on the hot seat though. I could see the OC getting canned at the end of the year. He's in way over his head. He was a very poor hire for Petersen and it's showing.

Picks are the same, really worried about ASU this weekend. Major trap game against a team with nothing to lose, backs against the wall. Plus our banged up D that was trying to do too much last weekend and missing tackles left and right :o. Just get to the bye week and I think the D will be fine but ugh this game.
