2 part post:

Watching the games today and every team does this, why the hell is this not called more in college. It just happened in the Stanford/USC game and it's stupid this is not called more. NCAA needs to enforce this more cause it makes it very hard on the defense, but maybe they want more offense in the game. Thoughts?

Also did y'all see how Les was coaching Clemson right before their punter tried a fake punt, 3 false starts on one drive capped off by a failed fake punt. So undisciplined.

Officiating has regressed significantly at both the college and NFL level. Fact.

I agree. And I think the pick plays are getting out of hand, too.

I think the SEC said they are going to make it a reviewable play next season, so there is that.

I may have missed some instance, but if the ball is thrown behind the LOS, there is no rule about blocking downfield.

It's called in the pros. In college it's +3 yard rule and HS it's +2 yards. So more leeway there but it's really bad in high school. Everyone running this "pop" series where QB reads LB to give or fake and throw. Lineman don't even know if its run or pass. The referee don't see it, they usually watching the ball like a fan and miss it. Officials are terrilble

Baylor has lineman downfield on 75% of their "pass" plays which are designed run-pass-options (RPOs) with pop concepts.

I can tell you on my team (high school), we were never called for it the previous two seasons. This year, we were probably penalized 10 times. It's all on the refs.

HS it's +2 yards.

The HS rule is, if the lineman is engaged at the LOS, he can continue the block up to 2 yards. He can no cross the LOS to find someone to block.
