Has OSU beaten anyone that was ranked at any point of the season?

TCU was #11 when OSU beat them. Or did you mean Oregon State?

You can nitpick Alabama's record, but I will say they are the only team I would not feel completely confident with Notre Dame playing right now. Their defense has been on fire.

I wouldn't say that. Clemson is healthy and still playing well. Oklahoma has looked very good, and although OSU hasn't looked very good against a dog poo schedule, that's still Urban Meyer on the other side of the field.

Even without our season-ending injuries, we are dinged the hell up right now.

I'd feel better against those teams (except probably Bama) in a playoff after six weeks' rest. We need the healing time more than most.

Why should this team get the benefit of a doubt against a one loss or undefeated Big 12 team?

Voters manipulated the polls to put a 2011 Alabama team in the BCS NCG over a 2011 Big 12 Conference Champion. So why would you think it isn't possible for the committee to just do the same thing for the Notre Dame program? They don't need a reason.

It really hurt you didn't it? They just snatched that title right from your hands, didn't they?

Actually:

ND only loss to #1 Clemson and best win is against #15 Navy.

Bama only loss to #19 Ole Miss and best win against #21 Miss State.

The depth of Bama's full resume' is better, but they are #2 because the committee believes they are the best team. Before their resume' was worthy of top 4 status, they were ranked their anyway. Opinions are still involved and maybe more than ever. I want to be clear, I believe Bama is worthy at this point and would curb stomp all of these other teams we are talking about. However, ND has a decent resume' as well and have had to do so with a backup rb and QB. That's pretty impressive. Both Bama and ND should be in. Oklahoma has the worst loss of any 1 loss team in the nation. I don't believe they should be top 3 right now.

Because it's Notre Dame. I've been saying this for a while now, Notre Dame and Alabama get the benefit of the doubt based on name alone. In the media, in the committee, etc... They just do.

I have a major problem with OU above Notre Dame. People point out that Notre Dame's wins are weak but it is not their fault that USC and Georgia Tech, 2 teams that before the year looked to be very strong, are major disappointments. Do people realize OU's 2 big wins are against back up quarterbacks. On top of that, I understand the committe is placing an emphasis on good wins over bad losses, but the Texas loss was BAD. That is a Texas team that got ran over Iowa State for christ sakes.

If ND wins against #9 Stanford, they could leapfrog OU by next week. It is significant that the committee ranked Stanford ahead of Oklahoma State.

OU jumped 4 spots after barely beating TCU by 1 point. If ND beats Stanford (who is a better team than TCU), then ND may make a similar jump.

OU does seem to be getting some luck in terms of their best opponents having major injuries at key positions (Baylor, TCU and now OSU).

well this argument is only valid for TCU with Boykin and Docston being out.

They won't win that game so Notre Dame is irrelevant.

They most definitely shouldnt. They should always be left out unless the committee really needs a back up plan in a year where there are a bunch of losses. They should join a conference or pay the consequences.

Why? That's terrible logic. Anyone can be independent if it wants/is able. ND be judged on its schedule/resume, not whether it's in a conference or not.

SOS so far with my formula, modeled after original BCS formula:

Notre Dame 25
Oklahoma 49
Baylor 60
Oklahoma State 62

These are the people who bitch about the eye ball test and then when you give them actual data to support your position, they say you never watch the games.
