No. 6 Notre Dame plays at No. 12 Clemson on Saturday and interest is so high that, as Tigers coach Dabo Swinney put it: "I couldn't get Jesus tickets."

This is what happens when the Fightin' Irish come to town. You have to start measuring things by Biblical standards. Television ratings soar. Recruits flock for visits. And that secondary market overheats – lower sideline tickets on StubHub on Tuesday night were $1,200 each. The same rows were just $140 for the following week against Georgia Tech.

But they aren't paying the players or letting them go to the NFL!

So, it's like they added a typical SEC fanbase to the ACC

Good for them.

Typical? Lol

If you mean 3 or 4 of the 14 teams in the SEC, sure.

Notes Dame is a bigger draw than Georgia Tech? Print the shirts!

At the very least, seven. Bama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, UT, UF, A&M

Right. It's like when Bama went to Duke in 2010. Look it up.

I would even include Kentucky, they have the same effect in basketball.

Do you know how many athletic departments turn a profit every year? Try about 25.
So what happens to the other schools who can't afford to pay anything?

What does the secondary market have to do with the Athletic Departments profits and payouts?

The resale value of tickets are irrelevant to Clemson's revenue anyway.

Edit: I see someone brought this up right above me. Should have scrolled down further.

I can get tickets into the stadium for less than $190 on stubhub for ND/Clemson

Ohio State/MSU is already more and it's 2 months away

maybe it's just me but i don't find stubhub to be a useful guide. Everyone on Stubhub thinks they can pay off their mortgage or something. I've seen games where the asking price outside the stadium is a fraction of what they are asking for on stub hub.

I don't know if it's a be all end all in any way but it provides a proxy. A lot of older fans won't travel to a game without ticket in hand (younger fans will). Therefore, an older fan is willing to pay the market price at StubHub.

I used to be like this, but now I wait it out often. You know the StubHub ticket is going to get you into the stadium too

some people will pay it sure, but it is a grossly inflated price more often than not in my limited experience. in a story like this when they say tickets are going for $XXXX in SH, that's usually the highest asking price, not necessarily what most tickets are going for.

In 2005, USC vs. Notre Dame tickets were $5,000 each.

$1,000 for endzone seats.

I went to the ND FSU game last year. I snuck in, but tickets were only $150.
