Just curious. Did anyone see the Northwestern cheerleaders do the promo when they came back from commercial at the beginning of the 4th Quarter of the Meineke Car Care Bowl?

They all said "Welcome back to the Meineke Car Care Bowl. College football lives here." in unison.

No big deal right? Well aren't cheerleaders intercollegiate athletes (technically speaking)?

When Matt Lienart said "Sportscenter is next" a few years ago, when he was at USC, the NCAA was all up in arms, but somehow I doubt NW even gets a phone call on this one.

I'm sure there are other examples, but that's the only one coming to mind. Is there a double standard?

Lot of times they have different competition teams.

Also, is cheerleading NCAA sanctioned? It is usually ran by UCA or something like that.

Cheerleaders cheering at a football game isn't a sanctioned sport.

I can't believe anyone is actually making this comparison.
