[link=(London team is 'on track' for 2022; NFL disputes report it's imminent

When reading this, I couldn't help but wonder if it happens. I would imagine it will (even though it's being denied).

That got me to thinking, Jags owner bought the team for $770 million. The Cowboys (America's team) are worth $1.85 billion.

Imagine how the value of the Jags would change if relocated to London. I would think it would rival that of Dallas, being the only home based team in Europe.

This owner could make himself a cool billion dollars in the next 10 years. I'd say that's a good ROI.

Does anyone actually think that a team WILL NOT eventually move to London? Think it'll be Jacksonville?

Please direct yourself to one of the 300000000000 threads on this issue already in progress.

Thank you.

That's the likely team. I think the regular season is actually pretty easy. If they keep Jacksonville as their American "home base" they can use that facility for around four weeks at a time. They play in London for four weeks, come back to the U.S., then repeat up to their 16th game. The hardest logistical scenario for them is if they make the playoffs, traveling becomes a real issue for the road team.

I would have 2 major concerns about a team in London. Would fans really care enough to go regularly and would players want to play there given the distance and higher tax rates.

Yeah, never thought about it like that. Imagine a west coast team having to go all the way across the pond. That would be stupid homefield advantage, before the game ever starts

With that in mind...Jacksonville has some good pieces, they will be pretty good in the next year or two.

Seems like a logistical nightmare, but I haven't put much thought into it.

Also might have an issue getting free agents to play for the team.

How well did NFL Europe do? Is there enough fan support to have a franchise there long term?

I think the Jags' future will be tied to if the Shipyard development that Khan wants to do in Jacksonville happens or not. I can't see him moving the team if that becomes a reality.

The UK has some of the most strict work permit regulations on planet Earth. It will never happen.

Never ever.

The International Series games in London have been expanding because of their popularity. It has gone from one game a year in 2007-2012 to 5 games scheduled for 2018. And those games will be spread around 3 different venues. I think there's enough interest to support a franchise.

You mean they wouldn't want to be taxed at 45% for anything over 150k?

How do futbol players play there? I would expect them to do the same thing for football.

For that matter, most of the London Monarchs were American and it wasn't an issue.

The tax rate is already 39.6% in that bracket. Add state income taxes, and it's pretty much the same.

Goodell wants an NFL team in London, and he doesnt care what you think.

There will be a team in London in the next few years as long as Goodell remains commish.
