NFL question..... (Maybe the wrong spot, sorry)

With all the talk over the last few years about PED's, I have a question. Whats the difference between using performance enhancers and the team doc's administering pain medication in the middle of the game? Isn't that performance enabling? Furthermore if it's the only thing that allowed the player to get back on the field isn't that logically a performance enhancer?
Your thoughts..... (I need football back bad.....)

Yeah, you're looking for the More Sports Board, I think.
I'll RA to have it moved.

I learn something new here every day. I'm about to take a whole box of Motrin and win a push up contest.

Oddly enough no painkillers are on the NFL banned substance list although they are medically known as PEDs. The following painkillers are blocked in Olympic sports:
Buprenorphine
Dextromoramide
Diamorphine (heroin)
Fentanyl and its derivatives
Methadone
Morphine
Oxycodone
Oxymorphone
Pentazocine
Pethidine
Other drugs including Codeine are allowed.

Seriously, I didn't say that pain killers give someone ability.... But if your in pain and can't lets say run around without limping and wincing, and then all of a sudden you can get right back on the field and run at full speed how is that not performance enhancing?

I would call that performance correcting, not performance enhancing.

Agreed sir, but how far can we take this; those Wheaties sure are helping and I guess could be categorized "performance enhancing"

Even if, without it the player could not get back on the field at all?

What? Name one thing a player takes on the sidelines that completely changes his prognosis immediately, from a no return to a full go.
Are you anti tape? Smelling salts? Pads? Eye black?

Yes I'm totally against "eye black" its a completely unfair advantage to not have light in your eyes....
I don't know the specific drug names apparently our friend up top does.... And I personally have a back problem and when it acts up I'm hobbled, a couple lortabs later and I'm moving around just fine!
I wasn't talking about a magic pill that repairs a broken bone..... A player is hurting, he goes in the locker room gets an injection comes back out and finishes the game, I'd say his performance had to be helped by the pain killers.....

Thing is players don't gain a competitive advantage by being worked on by a trainer. If they did, the league would've been renamed Darren McFadden FL years ago.
If anyone suicide bombs a knee brace factory, I'm reporting you.

Thanks for avoiding the question entirely..... I never said anything about knee braces, tape or anything of the sort.....

No, I do not think aspirin are performance enhancing drugs. Is that better?
