I'm sure they've been doing this everywhere, and for years, but interesting nonetheless.

FTW USAToday
quote:

The NFL demanded “two top-quality bowling venues” and “three top-quality 18-hole golf courses” to be reserved for league use, at no cost to the NFL.

quote:

The league also wants 20 color pages of free advertising space in daily newspapers, free radio ads, and for the hotels that will house the teams to advertise the NFL Network for a full year prior to the game.

More detail here:
Minneapolis Star Tribune

quote:

Also, the document states that the hotels where the teams stay should be obligated to televise the NFL Network for a year before the Super Bowl — at no cost to the league.

I would assume so, unless it's just a one-time thing to bring all their people to Minnesota in Jan/Feb.

The golf game will last one stroke. Good luck finding a white ball in the snow.

I don't think it specifies when the league will use those golf courses

"And no green M&Ms in the candy jar."

"NFL senior management to be exempt from all laws and regulations. License to kill will be granted 30 days before Super Bowl and expire 30 days after Super Bowl."

This. I assume the summer before the game is played a ton of stuff is going on already in anticipation.

The bowling alley thing was more odd to me; who bowls?

at no cost to the league????

It's their own damn network. They can't comp their own network to the two hotels that will house the teams?

Watched John Oliver's Last week tonight rant on FIFA.

I honestly think we are giving in too much to sports leagues.

Really wish someone publicyly said GFY to goodell/fifa.

Look what's going on with the next (I think?) winter olympics. Almost all the potential sites have dropped their bids because the IOC has been quite careless in concealing the fact that all the payoffs, subsidies, and bribes make hosting the Olympics a huge loser.

Not to mention all the white elephants that are left to dot your landscape.

Real Sports just did a story on this issue last month.
