Teams could easily pay a black hat hacker with all their connections and resources to dig up dirt or put derogatory info on athlete's social media or leak info the the media.

Would be a despicable, yet effective way to get a top 5 player they had their heart set on to tumble down the draft boards into a teams range later in the round.

Again, just a theory that occurred to me.

This is not a movie from the 80s/90s, there is no "hacking" transpiring.

The players seem pretty good at sabotaging themselves.

If you don't think hacking is prevalent in this day and age ON A DAILY basis....I don't know what else to tell you. Ever heard of Anonymous?

But if you think Tunsil did that to himself costing himself millions, you're bulb maybe isn't shining the brightest today, sir.

It's confirmed the info didn't pop up until friggin draft day. Be real.

I smiled at your sarcasm. Still feel bad for La'El.

Random? You're suggesting that teams are gathering dirt on draft prospects and then hacking their social media accounts to tarnish their reputation with the hope that they fall to you.

ETA: And baseless? WTF are you talking about baseless? Everything in this thread is baseless.

How is this not plausible? Pats already got caught cheating multiple times. Cards busted for shady computer shite.

Teams routinely ask inappropriate questions to prospects in interviews (see Dolphins/Dez Bryant)

NFL franchises are ruthless companies as a whole looking for any competitive advantage they can get.

Again, it is a Theory,

Which was incredibly stupid, but it belies the premise of the theory I suggested.

Just because it was dumb , doesn't mean it's okay for someone to take advantage of it for nefarious reasons (someone did, we just don't know who yet)

u do realize, a few teams leaked info for a guy to fall to them.

Warren Sapp is a perfect example, TB leaked cocaine and Mary j rumors to SI. He went from top 5 to slipping to Buccs.

Goodell framed La'el Collins for murder so Jerry Jones could get him as an UDFA to make up for taking away one of his draft picks.

If you're gonna go with a conspiracy theory, go all the way.

Wow. Is this a verified story of how it went down? I remember the rumors, but didn't recall if they found out the source. At this point, it absolutely wouldn't surprise me. Good add.

Sapp failed a combine drug test. All of the teams knew about it.
