The NFCCG will be the first game since 1971 that Heisman winning QB will be starting for both teams.
1971 game
Cowboys Staubach
49'ers Spurrier
I think it's not happened in AFCCG or Super Bowl either.

Heisman QBs are notorious for being flops in the NFL. How is this unbelievable?

The saints / 49ers tilt in the dome in the late 1990s featuring wuerfel and Toretta was off the hook.

Got to be honest, I didn't realize Spurrier ever had any success in the NFL. How did he get to the NFCCG?

Ok contrarian
Just pointing out if thought it would've happened more

This is why it makes me laugh when LSU and other CFB fans complained endlessly about Derrick Henry winning the Heisman. That award has always been meaningless. The only Heisman Trophy winner in the last 25 years who will end up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame is Charles Woodson and maybe Cam if he keeps it up. The best player in CFB rarely wins that trophy.

He punted in that game.

I am shocked as well. Brodie was pretty damn good in those days.

Spurrier punted 6 times for a 38.2 avg.

Where did I say he started as a QB? The fact is correct.

What's inaccurate about that?

You can't? I know you need to rethink that.

It's very Bill Clinton-esque, and you know it.

I don't call a position where there's a chance you don't even step on the field at all, starting position.
Also, very rarely is there a backup punter at that position. I don't call a place kicker who will punt if the punter goes down a punter.
