Willie Taggart has dismissed Darren Carrington from the #Oregon football team. The Ducks top WR & big-play WR had a DUI earlier this month.
Taggart ain't playing games.

Political reasons obvious.
But why DUI has become a death sentence for college kids is beyond political.
Pro athletes can murder people...and still have a job.
Some kid blows .09 and his career is over...because he basically had what amounts to 2 beers.
2 beer ending career.

Well they should know that by now. It isn't that hard to not drink at all if you will be driving.

This wasn't the first time he's been in trouble at Oregon. I doubt he kicks Carrington off of the team if it was his first offense. Oregon fans pretty much knew he was a goner after he got the DUI based on his history there and Taggart having to set some sort of tone early in his coaching career there.

Head coaches can work kids so hard they are hospitalized and still keep his job.

Choices have consequences. He knew the rules and didn't live up to them.

Wonder of Taggart will suffer same fate as Strong did by coming into a soft, entitled program and laying down the law.
I like Tagger, he's an old school Harbaugh/Shaw protégé, but I just think Nike, the facilities, amd the type of athletes that Oregon has recruited for a decade are not a good fit for his style.
Honestly, I think Taggert would be excellent at a Place like Tennessee where you have a wide talent pool, and a fan base that desires smash mouth-esque football.

I love Willie Taggart. Made a point to catch his WKU teams when they were on TV and traveled to Troy for a Thursday night game when they came to Alabama. He's got the makeup of a solid hire for UO. Hope it pays off for them.
College football is more fun when Oregon is scoring and playing well

His career isn't over. He's going to end up playing somewhere else this year and if he shows out, somebody will take him at the next level.

Hasn't Taggart already had to fire his OC and his QB coach for DUIs in the spring.

Winning fixes everything.
Strong wasn't winning at texas. They lost to KANSAS. Yeah, KANSAS. Not in basketball, but the KANSAS football team. Strong was over his head at UT

I think that Taggart is going to do really well there; maybe not as well as Chip Kelly, but well. I think he's the type of person who really is comfortable adjusting his schemes based on his personnel.

I didn't like the hire at first. I really wanted Fleck. I thought his personality matched the brand that Oregon was selling.
I've liked what I've seen out of Taggart. He's doing away with the mess he inherited. Oregon was on the brink of burning up. Taggart isn't putting up with the nonsense Helfrich let the players get away with, he's making sure they're hitting the weight room, and he's recruiting.

So is he free to transfer anywhere and play right away?
