Have not followed them this year. They are now 3-6.

They fired a consistent winner for a change in style/attitude/character whatever you want to call it. They have to take their lumps this year and rebuild the program.

Why? Its not like they have the talent for a 3-6 team that gives up 55 to Purdue that probably hasn't scored 55 in a conference game since Brees left.

They want to believe they can return to the days of 1971 again but those days of domination are long over no matter what conference they are in and will never return...

I came into this thread basically to post the same thing. Nebraska's best hope now is to be above average.

Pretty much. Same for Miami.

Miami's a destination town in a talent rich state...the right coach and some facility upgrades, they could be a somebody again.

Lincoln, Nebraska's a much tougher sell.

I can see why they canned pelini. Publicly challenging your boss to fire you is pretty egregious. Hiring Riley was the problem.

I did always like bo at lsu though.

Nebraska coming back

According to this MSB post the B1G is the best conference and Nebraska is a sleeping giant.

Guess he got the sleeping part

leaving the big 12 was the worst decision nebraska made. in the big 10, it's just another midwest program with minimal in-state talent and crappy winters. if nebraska wants to be relevant again, it seriously needs to do whatever it takes to rejoin the big 12.

Shouldnt have fired Frank Solich after going 9-3

Dumpster Fire. I would pay good money to see/hear Trev Alberts give his thoughts on Nebraska Football as Espn Analyst.

Haven't been good since they ran the triple option. They could get the best option qbs available out of high school...and teams aren't built to face power running teams anymore.

They wouldn't be any better off in the Big XII. They can't beat lower level Big10 teams that don't score points and play their style of old school football. High speed offenses would rape them.

No one but Nebraska was running the old power option and it gave teams fits. Now they are running generic spread attack number 372 like most teams in college football. Only they are doing it without the blazing speed you need to run the spread now a days against good teams.

I think they would do better against the pitiful defenses of the Big 12. They clearly did before switching to the Big Ten.

They also no longer have the best weight room in college football.
