The seeded teams

1) Duke
2) Syracuse
3) Loyola
4) Penn
5) Denver
6) Notre Dame
7) Maryland
8) UVA

First round matchups in the upper half of the bracket:

Duke will play Air Force/Richmond winner
UVA vs Johns Hopkins
Penn vs Drexel
Denver vs UNC

Wow, UNC got a really tough draw. Also, Duke should be pretty damn pleased with their draw.

Coming up, the bottom half of the bracket

Syracuse vs Bryant/Siena
Maryland vs Cornell
Loyola-Albany
Notre Dame-Harvard

Tough draw for Maryland, too. It's a real pain in the arse for the committee to keep all the ACC teams away from each other in round 1.

Man, if I was a Loyola fan, I would be pissed. Being a 3 seed is reasonable enough, but to have to face Albany? On the right day, I am sure Albany could beat some pro teams. On the wrong day, they may lose 15-5 against Loyola.

I'm a t-shirt Loyola fan , but I do like this team more than the 2012 team.

Wasn't Loyola ranked number one like a week ago? I haven't been following like I usually do.

Yeah, they have been 1 for a while, but the rankings aren't as important as the strength of schedule. In other words, ACC teams often get slotted above their rankings, especially with teams like Duke that also beat Denver and UPenn in the regular season (and lost by 7 goals to Loyola).

Five of the eight seeded teams (including the top two) are from the ACC and all six ACC teams made the field. The best conference in all of Division I athletics just might be ACC men's lacrosse.

Agreed, even if it is only for one year.
