This isn't just who would you take right now, I'm taking their careers into account. In case you forgot Blake finished top 5 in MVP voting last year. He's still a really good player and I hate saying that.

Aldridge

Gasol
Conley

2015 Duncan is not a top 15 player.

Playoff Duncan disagrees. But fine for arguments sake replace him with either Klay Thompson or Cousins.

Griffin is absolutely a top 15 player. Any argument against is just a waste of time.

Are the notables supposed to be guys that turned out decent?

Most of them are guys who turned out to be decent, but I also threw a couple top picks in there that didn't turn out that great.

Gimme Gobert over Nerlens as the #1 pick in 2013 draft. And Gasol should be #2 over Noah in 2007 draft. And have a hard time putting Love over Rose... I mean Rose still won an MVP. Sure he's been hurt and what not, but so has KD and he's still #1 in his draft. At worst, Rose should be #2.

And like everyone else has said, id take Curry #1 and Harden #2 with Griffin #3 in the 2009 draft.

Should add Monta Ellis in there somewhere for 2005 most likely.

2007
1. Portland Trailblazers - Kevin Durant, 2 (Greg Oden)
2. Seattle Supersonics - Joakim Noah, 9 (Kevin Durant)
3. Atlanta Hawks - Marc Gasol, 48 (Al Horford)
4. Memphis Grizzlies - Al Horford, 3 (Mike Conley)
5. Boston Celtics - Mike Conley Jr., 4 (Jeff Green)

Most teams would take Gasol over Noah.

Only issue with redrafts is it doesn't take into account the year before.
The biggest issue is if you were the GM or owner, you'd be thinking a lot differently.
quote:

2011 1. Cleveland Cavaliers - Kawhi Leonard, 15 (Kyrie Irving) 2. Minnesota Timberwolves - Kyrie Irving, 1 (Derrick Williams)
If you are trying to make money, there is no way you take Leonard over Kyrie.

The fact that OKC drafted Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, and Harden in a 3 year span is still amazing to me.

3 legit MVP caliber players.
I know this is not ground breaking news.

In another year or two, people will take Draymond Green over Lillard in this scenario. He's better now, but Dame has the better body of work.

Duncan has already been mentioned, but I don't see the argument for Lillard either.

Both elite defenders, but Gasol is better offensively would be my argument.

If I were doing the draft based solely on right now I would have taken Draymond ahead of Lillard, but I tried my best to take the whole career into play.
