A coworker bet me 100 bucks straight up that the Thunder beat the Rockets. I took it because it's great odds, but I'm still nervous.

The gambler in me would take that 100 bucks and place it on the Thunder Moneyline +700. (Almost) Free bet to win 600 bucks with only 10 at risk

I stumbled over the wording a little
If he gets 100 dollars for the Thunder losing from a coworker, he could bet 100 dollars on the Thunder to win, which is +700 at my book.
So if the Thunder lose, you only lose the juice, which would probably be 10 bucks. You win the bet with the coworker and the earnings from that would cover the bet you made
But if the Thunder win, you would win 700 dollars on your bet and could pay the coworker his 100 dollars and pocket the 600 in winnings
