What do you guys think should the players have to become better foul shooters or should it be declinable like a football penalty?

Tell them to work on their FTs and we won't have this issue.

Give the option to shoot free throws or take the ball.
Fouls should never be encouraged. That's the opposite of the point of having fouls.

Make your damn free throws. Shouldn't be allowed on a roster shooting below 50% from the line.

they should be better foul shooters. if you are a professional basketball player being paid millions, you should be able to hit 70% from the free throw line.

Seemed familiar, didn't it? Seriously, Rockets and especially Clippers fans are pushing so hard for this it's sad.

Ha, I'm probably biased too because of Drummond. Honestly, I want a world where D12/DAJ/Drummond are on the floor and think FTs should be a reward, not a penalty. But, I get the arguments the other way.

A foul away from the ball should be optional to accept.

This.
It's like suggesting a rule against full court press defense because guys decide they no longer need to dribble and pass the ball well enough to get it up court.
Shoot FT's at a decent clip and this technique goes away on its own...without fricking with the rules.

How can any professional basketball player shoot under 65% FT. Shoot that mfer granny style if you need to.

Some of the brick-layers should be downright ashamed...and the NBA or any team should be shamed for having them.

This.
And, tbh, it's only a few guys in the NBA who can't make them consistently. Ridiculous to change the rule to coddle, what, 4 or 5 players?

People that shoot below 70% are the ones that get hacked. He'll usually it's ones that are below 60%
As a professional, you should be able to make 7/10 free throw, I'm sorry, or if you can't, work until you can.

Seems like most people say shoot the FTs. I agree, I think we lose sight that these guys are paid millions to put the ball in the hoop. Should they move the 3pt line further back cause of Curry?
Posted on 2/5/16 at 12:58 pm to golfntiger32
They should move the foul line to 5 feet from the basket for non shooting fouls.
Posted on 2/5/16 at 1:08 pm to golfntiger32
if they can't shoot FT's, foul them.

Option to shoot or keep the ball and player fouled sits out for 3 minutes.
Only applies to away from the play fouls and not under 2 minutes left in the game.

They wouldn't be encouraged if all players could shoot free throws at a reasonable clip
