Not a hockey guy but the 3 on 3 thing they got is a good idea. NBA should do a 2 on 2 and make the prize big to add incentive.

Even if the best players do not play, still could be fun.

Well, those goaltenders tend to GAF more when there's $1M on the line.

I didn't say it was great. I don't watch hockey. I just said it was a good idea.

Of all the all-star weekends, the NBA needs the least amount of help IMO.

Granted, that isn't saying much considering they're all pretty bad, but the NBA is the best IMO.

I do think it would be cool the NBA picked teams like the Pro Bowl did last year. Players can be selected as East/West, but each side could have a captain and then they'd pick from there. It could add a little flair to the weekend and perhaps generate some animosity among the players depending on when they were picked.

Of course Kobe would need to be a captain this year or else he'd be picked last.

2 on 2 with the Rock N' Jock basketball setup & rules.

Dare I say, GOAT?

As weird as it sounds, the MTV R&J basketball game used to be pretty awesome and entertaining...much more so than the actual NBA game. I'm not saying that the NBA game needs to go to that format completely, but it sure as hell could take some cues from them and tweak things to make it more interesting and entertaining for fans.

I do think the 3 point shootout, the skills competition, and the dunk contests are fine though (although the dunk contest has needed mad tweaking over the years since it's gotten so ridiculous).

They should do slam ball for the all star game.

You must think the Big XII style of football is the best also right? That last game they were really playing to win, not just be out there for appearances like most sports all-star game is. Yesterday was the most fun of I've had watching any all-star game in quite a while.

Do guys no longer play 21?

Can be 1 on 1 or multiple guys playing against each other. Scores from the field equal where they are taken...2 or 3. After a made basket you go to the line for free throws capped at three makes in a row then you get the ball. Etc...

This no longer a game guys play?

But I agree...skills things are boring as hell now.

No a 3 on 3 with a cash prize. 2 on 2 would be boring IMO

Yeah no one plays 2 on 2. I'd pay to watch a Lebron/Kyrie/Love vs Wade/Melo/Bosh game.

Yep, 3 on 3 would be the most realistic being that there are amateur tournaments around the country.

Norris Cole and Omer Asik combo would probably be unbeatable.

But seriously it would be cool to see matchups like LeBron/Kyrie vs Draymond/Steph. Could have an 8-10 team bracket and battle it out.

Would it be possible to break the 3 on 3 teams into the best players from their respective divisions? Maybe a draw to see which 2 teams get a bye and then go from there?
