National Anthem at sporting events

Does anyone get annoyed by those performers who add their personal touch to the song , and make it sound awful like singing a hip hop or pop song?
i can't stand, i'd change the channel.
on the other hand; listening the the Anthem at the Navy/Army game right now on TV with the choir singing it makes it very pleasant to listen to.

Agreed: So many people think they are Whitney Houston and they are sorely lacking.
If a non traditional version is desired it should be mandated this version is played in tribute.

A month or so ago at an NFL game it was done by a guy with a trumpet and it was awesome. That's how it should be done IMO

I don't mind some flare. Also depends on the person singing it. This young lady has a little flare to her's but when you consider where the voice is coming from it's pretty powerful.
