I knew giving Nashville an NHL franchise would be a mistake.

None of those players have anything in common with those fans.

Have you been to Nashville for a hockey game? Have you been to Nashville for a playoff hockey game? Have you seen video footage of downtown Nashville for the Stanley cup finals? I bet the answer to all these questions are NO, so shut the frick up!

How often do professional athletes have anything in common with fans?

I watched part of the game last night... I would have loved to be in that crowd... those people were insane

Hockey is the only sport arguably trashier than NASCAR.

Giving a city that currently has a team that's tied in the Stanley Cup finals, what a goddamn mistake!

Yeah but they still cheer at the wrong times and when it's a bad thing for Nashville.

NASCAR types

There is a pretty large discrepancy you will see from one end of the spectrum to the other if you attend a NASCAR race. Just like at an F1 race or any other racing series. Horsepower and speed are not relegated to a set type. If you've never seen a cost sheet or spec sheet in a NASCAR shop it is quite the sight. There is a lot of engineering that goes into every little detail of their cars. Hell most of the pit crew went to school for a couple of years just to change the tires on the dern things.

F1 fans are completely different than NASCAR fans. They usually have all their teeth (except in the UK). They are educated. Top drawer people watch F1.

I've been watching hockey for 30+ years, and have been to 12 games this year, and I've never seen the predators crowd cheer when it's a bad thing for Nashville.

On the other hand, Nashville IS a destination for hockey fans, and on nights when big name teams come into town like the Maple Leafs, Habs, Rangers, Boston there are a significant number of opposing fans in the arena (like 1k+)

I take it you've never attended either. You've formed your opinion. It's wrong and obviously constructed with zero perspective, but it's yours so . I will give you that F1 in comparison to NASCAR may be tilted heavier on the higher end of the scale, but you will see all aspects of society if you walk around the concourse, pit/garage, and suites at a large event.

The location of the arena is truly great.

We take over, especially in the regular season. That arena is at least 1/4 Blackhawk fans when Chicago plays Nashville.

Congratulations on your hot take. Those trailer park fans must be making some good money to attend games in the postseason. Minimum ticket price for game 6 in Nashville is a cool $700

A sport that allows fistfights between players that are missing teeth, was made trashy by Nashville?
