LSU's new hire never played apparently. Was just wondering who some other good coaches that never played basketball.

How about other sports?

Spoelstra played college. He was on the court when Hank Gathers died.

Both played, though Stan played for his father at some d3 school

But he did have a solid porn career

damn i cant picture stan van gundy playing bball, he had to have been 200 lbs lighter

Popovich played 4 years for Air Force and was the team captain his senior year.

Played the level they coach or played ever? Surely Wade at least played high school or junior high, no?

He was a manager for his high school

IIRC Richard Williams, who took MS State to the final 4, never even played in HS

Frank Martin never played above HS and started as a HS assistant
