My Super Bowl F*** Up

To start this story I have to take you back to 1972. My old man would always leave at the end of the 3rd quarter to beat traffic. So the Ole Miss game rolls around and we are playing them close. So I ask my Dad to let us stay past the third quarter. He relents, but I could tell he wasn't happy. We stayed until their was two minutes left to play. Unheard of for my Dad. Finally he said, "Alright, I've waited long enough, let's go." So we left. We were outside of Tiger stadium when we heard a big roar. I looked at my Dad with the WTF face. I asked a guy who had a radio on his shoulder what happened. He said it was unbelieveable, that the Tigers won on a last second touchdown. I just shook my head.
That night I swore I would stay to the end for every football game that I attended or watched on TV. I didn't of course, but I gave it the old school try.
I did for the Super Bowls. I watched, stayed with them to the bitter end. I had too, because I liked the Lombardi Trophy presentation. So for 45 Super Bowls I stayed to the bitter end and caught the Trophy celebration.
That brings to 2017's Super Bowl. I watched until the Pats scored a touchdown then missed the extra point. Then they kicked an onside kick and didn't get it and had a penalty. So the ball was on the Pats 41. Score 28-9. At that time I turned off the game. I really didn't want to watch the Falcons win. They had beaten the Saints so often, with last second touchdowns. And, there was no way the Pats could pull the win out anyway. So I thought.
I got a text on my phone from a friend who lives in Boston. That the Pats won and in overtime. I couldn't believe it. I had missed the greatest comeback in the history of the Super Bowl and the only overtime game.
I had flash backs to the '72 Ole Miss game. Groan.

I believe there's a guy on the Saints board who went to a NO game as a child with his mother at Tulane Stadium. She insised they leave before the end, and they were walking way when they heard a huge roar.
It was against the Lions in 1970, and Tom Dempsey had just kicked a FG...

He was the only guy in the entire city that was not at that game.

I didnt turn the game on until the game tying drive. First thing I see is 1st and 10 with the patriots backed up inside their own 10 with about 3 minutes to play. I immediately had flashbacks to "the drive" with Montana and the 49'ers vs Cincy. It was every bit the drama of that drive with the added bonus of a 2 point game tying play. In the history of the Super Bowl, those drives have to be 1a and 1b

Most of the records were the usual marching band stuff from the Billy Cannon years or whenever, but the one I remember was this recitation by some Deliverance-type hillbilly backed by a country band. He narrated the events of the 1972 game in a Kige-ish voice and the record ended with him saying, "Ellashyew se'umteen, Awl Mess sexteen".
Has anyone else ever heard this?
