Congrats! My kid played 3rd -5th. Played LB and RB for his 5th/6th grade combined squad. Made the All Star team! Then blew out his ACL in practice, non contact, leading up to the All Star game. Combined with a partial PCL/MCL tear and and possibly a slight tear in the meniscus. Kicked arse in rehab. Sitting out this fall but wants to play middle school.
Injuries suck but part of the game. Our one friends son tore his labrum last year. Came back and was Captain his senior season this year. Tore his other lebrum last game and is out of football for good. Could have gotten a scholarship too. Same game his buddy tore his ACL in non contact. Hopefully your son stays healthy but these injuries suck. Especially when they hit close to home. Good luck!
