Music City Miracle

One of the greatest moments in Nashville sports history and one of the best NFL radio calls.

Favorite sports moment of all time. Unfortunately was stuck in Hendersonville when it happened but did catch it live on tv with about 50 other people. Pure joy all around

There are no flags on the field! It's a miracle!

My dad was there with my uncle. They own PSL's but split the games, except for the playoffs which they go to together. Said it was one of the wildest scenes he ever saw. Random people hugging and pure joy everywhere.

A few years later for the Music City Mulligan I was in the house.

Was sitting by myself watching it at my FIL's camp. I start hollering about what happened and others come running in to see.

Truly an amazing play.... unless you're a Buffalo fan.

Schefter, is that you?

And Frank Wycheck responds with

@AdamSchefter I know it was backwards, because I threw it

Are we really going to get into the forward pass argument in this thread?

Dyson stepped back and caught the ball at the 25 yard line, right in line with or slightly behind where the ball came out of Wycheck's hand. I don't see how you can view it otherwise unless you're a Buffalo fan or a bitter Houston fan in denial.

Long live the legal music city miracle.

It's the greatest sports moment the city has without a doubt.

1. Landing the Oilers
2. Music City Miracle
3. Vandy wins CWS
4. People realizing they've had a hockey team for a while.

Pretty sure that's it.

Babe Ruth and Lou Gerhig playing at Sulphur Dell was a big deal. If Preds can win a Stanley Cup, that'll jump to 1.

I always wonder if that play was flagged illegal and dead, would this have not made the Jacksonville Jaguars the laughing stock they are today or at least would have given them a better history to the football historians. The Jaguars went 0 for Tennessee that season as the Titans were their only losses that whole season. 1999 was the epitome of parity with the Rams, Colts, Titans, and Seahawks coming from out of nowhere to make the playoffs.

You're probably right. The Jags were the best team in the league that year but couldn't beat the Titans. Crazy turn of events that year.
