Well frick me. St Louis goalie just made one hell of a save to hang on to the win. Jackets are in almost every single game, but never finish.

His dumb arse is the one that cup checked Benn with his stick in open ice. He started that fight on his own

The cup check was hysterical. Benn and Thornton took their time taking off their gloves and helmets.

And, look, another guy barely hanging on to a roster spot has seriously injured one of the league's stars. Erik Gudbranson hit Evgeni Malkin into the boards. If you find the youtube, you can see Malkin's head rock back and forth like a bobblehead. He's experiencing "slight" concussion symptoms, but so was Crosby. Before he missed 11 months.

Really, how many star players can be injured by barely competent NHL players before the league cracks down on this? But no, Ryan Clowe is facing a 10 game suspension for going after Andrew Shaw for his plainly illegal hit in the waning seconds on Pavelski. Another f'n bottom feeder trying to seriously injure one of the league's stars on a play having barely anything to do with hockey.

This is out of control.

Crosby lights the lamp 4 minutes in.

With Malkin out a few games, this Crosby-Neal pairing is as lethal if not more lethal than Malkin-Neal.

And that line just scored again.

2-0 with 13 minutes left in the 1st.

Crosby's 2nd of the night already, get your hats ready.

I don't like Chicago being an Original Six team left out in the cold. But the only solution there is moving Detroit and Toronto west, which appears to be a non-starter. The Hawks get hosed for the good of the league.

I still don't see which "conferences" will play which in the playoffs (is it east v. east and central v. west?). To me, that is the key. I don't care about the regular season, but I have always felt it hosed the Wings having to do a couple west coast series in a row in the playoffs. Also, that shite goes to double OT and the fanbase is really getting zero sleep in the east, although it's fun during a deep run.

That leaves the door open for expansion teams.

Could OKC or Houston get an NHL franchise
