That other one, no not really as it wasn't that hard of a shot to be honest.
it was a fall away from 15 feet with manu on him that he had no time to set, he just had to catch and fire, that play was incredibly unlikely and lucky

Now if you would have put the Sampson shot vs LA in 86 yes
yea this is up there

This one just came into my head. Had 3 FTs, missed the last 2 and lost the game, in the conference championship game and they missed the Dance.

When you say "unlikely" I'm not taking it to mean the best.

Tom Dempsey's 63 yard field goal to win with no time on the clock has to be it as it hasn't happened again in 45 years. The Lions kicker had just kicked the go ahead FG with :08 left on the clock.

The other 63s and longer were first half kicks. That's why it's always going to be the best.

Matt Bryant's 62 is underrated because you have to realize that he was considered a shitty kicker at that point in his career. I don't think anyone thought he had a chance.

It's the Kick Six and it's not remarkably close.

Saints pitching the ball back on the kick-off all the way to a game tying TD pending the PAT only to miss it. Craziest thing I've seen

When have you not seen the guy who takes the missed field goal attempt smoke past 9 offensive linemen and score? OBJ did it for LSU earlier that year. The moment the guy got the ball you should have known the game was over.

It's an amazing play and one of the greatest finishes ever, but I don't know how "unlikely" it is.

The odds on a game ending like that are astronomical.

Has it ever happened before it the history of football on the final play?

No. Every other play mentioned so far has happened multiple times to end games except 5th down I think. And was that the final play?

Sorta think something that has never happened fits the definition of unlikely hete.
