This truly is the most bizarre series of events i have ever seen in sports. Who the hell are these guys?

Niche sport that caters to markets that aren't participating
It's a pretty terrible product by and far

They are only the ones who were good enough to make it to the College World Series by beating the other guys.

With all these upsets we would have actually had a chance.

Moving to the new stadium along with the new bats destroyed the CWS. It's really sad because it used to be a great thing.

Except you were one of the biggest upsets.

Negative, we would have been two and out

Mighty dollar steers all. If TV ratings are terrible, advertising rates will fall, and NCAA will eventually move outfield walls in.
I'm a big CWS fan and this year has been really hard to watch. Hasn't Okie State won two 1-0 games?

I watched a few innings of Coastal Carolina vs. Florida. Other than that I haven't watched any of it. I wonder what the ratings are for these broadcasts. I imagine they are very low. If LSU were in it I would be watching but otherwise I am just not interested. That is a sad commentary for the College World Series.

I can appreciate it for what it is.
Those teams have earned it.
OSU pitching has been lights out since regionals started.
35 man roster when the big teams lose recruits to MLB and don't have time to re recruit the lesser tier players that are already inked with mid majors makes for exciting baseball, anything can happen.
In Omaha you can have the best team ever, the way the park plays has made the games toss ups, if you get a lead and add to it you will win, all the pressure goes the other way. If you get down too much, forget about coming back.

It really has been a snore fest. The WCWS was so much more entertaining.
Yesterday's Coastal/TCU game in prime time had 763,000 viewers.
By comparison, LSU-JMU softball super regional game at NOON had 637,000. All three of the Oklahoma-Auburn series had over 1,000,000 viewers and that was down from last year's Michigan-Florida ratings

Through 8 games there has been 6 homeruns. TCU has hit 3 of them. CCU has none.
There has been an average of 5 runs total scored each game.
Not as anemic as I thought it would be. The new baseballs that were introduced last year make a difference. I still believe they should take in the fences about 10 feet though.

I'm not sure, as a baseball outsider, I really understand.
I know I am a bit biased as I am enjoying the CWS currently partially because TCU is doing well. However, the game is still a game. Both teams are competing under the same rules. Both teams are struggling to get a man on base and then get him around to the plate again. Both teams are struggling to prevent the opponents from scoring. Both teams and coaches are forced to scheme against each other.
Personally, I kind of see this like relatively recent outcry in CFB for higher scoring more potent offenses, with an idea that great defensive battles are boring.
The excitement should be in the personal and collective struggle of the athletes for whichever team you are routing. It should be in the tactical calculated approach of a coaching staff to out maneuver their opponent. It doesn't have to equate to high scores.
I would venture to say it takes much more controlled skill, game planning, and patience to win games in the CWS now as compared to gorilla ball where even an average hitter could get lucky and crank one over the fence. The later just seems more like luck and effectively made the game have a singular focus (whose team can hit the most over the fence).

Exactly!!! If a team has a 3 run lead in the 2nd inning you can turn the TV off! Sad!!
