Agreed, that's bizarre. The C wasn't even behind the plate anymore.

DOesn't matter where the catcher is. Game was still live and batter was in batters box when he swung the bat across the plate.

Why is the umpire a count for following the rules?

Not a huge fan of umpires (I think that most, from Little League to the majors are just way too full of themselves), but that one is on the batter being an idiot.

The ball never crossed the plate, so it was still live. The batter was being a mother fricking moron and decided to swing for no reason at all, and the umpire called him out. The umpire was 100% correct there. If the batter didn't swing and be stupid, that's not a trike.

I was the home plate umpire and the batter did the same thing. He had a two strike count and pitch was a foot over his head. He swung and took off for first, catcher didn't even have a chance to throw to first.

I had to call strike 3 and safe at first.
