In late June, a video of Ishmael Zamora, a wide receiver for the Bears, was shared on another Baylor player's Snapchat. The video shows Zamora abusing his dog.

quote:

Zamora said that he was only trying to discipline his dog and not harm him.

Zamora expressed that same sentiment in a statement he released to News Channel 25. "I lost my temper trying to discipline him," Zamora said.

"I’ve been through training with a dog trainer to help me learn new potty training tips."

As a native Texan, I agree with this.

Doing that to a dog points to some deeper issues that just not knowing how to train a dog. This guy has problems. Football should be the least of his concern.

The Big 12 needs to boot Baylor and replace them with Houston.

Found this in the Facebook comments of ESPN's article:

quote:

"I think he just was frustrated and spanked his dog for not being house trained, and you just can't do that," Grobe said. "He knows that. He loves the dog and takes great care of the dog, other than, you know, losing his temper with the dog. I think he's taken pretty good care of him."

Other than beating his dog with a belt and kicking him, I think he's taken pretty good care of him?!?!?!

Other than beating my kid or wife and kicking my kid or wife I feel like I've been been a good husband.

And we wonder why no accountability is ever taken. The head coach, who is supposed to train these guys the right way, who is supposedly a well-respected coach, is nothing. I'm not speaking for the entire campus or entire football team at Baylor, but geez, there seems to be something epidemically wrong with program. If there are good kids on this team they have no chance to prove themselves!

I liked Jim Grobe for the job he did at Wake but he seems to be a jackass as well
