Not only are they stretching for questions, Gerry Austin (a 25 year ref) is giving incorrect responses.
He literally said they can't review it because it wasn't a scoring play or change of possession.

Gerry is just an old dude in an easy arse job, collecting a paycheck. He woke up today, expecting to chill the frick out, and ends up being attacked(kinda) on national TV by a psychotic murderer. He was flustered and gave stupid answers.
