I really hope that the "jake, from state farm" isn't a real thing pirates fans are going to do, and rather just one idiot that for some reason keeps getting retweeted by cubs fans.

How would losing to a team with a better record in their stadium be collapsing?

Here's my guess at the YANKEES starting lineup tonight

1. CF Jacoby Ellsbury: “Jacoby Ells-BURIES it! A jack….. by Jake!”
2. LF Chris Young: "Younger than Springtime! Forever YOUNG!"
3. DH Alex Rodriguez: "It's an A-Bomb! From A-Rod!"
4. RF Carlos Beltran: “LOS is loose! A BELT by Beltran!”
5. C Brian McCann: (singing) “Oh… McCann cannnn… yes McCann cannnn!”
6. 1B Greg Bird: “Bye bye, Birdie! Here he is, the Birman of New York!”
7. 3B Chase Headley: "You can BANK on CHASE! Headley is Deadly!"
8. 2B Dustin Ackley: "Dustin goes Bustin'!"
9. SS Didi Gregarious: "Gregarious has Yankees fans uproarious! Yes in-Didi!"

When the pitcher on your team just set the MLB record for lowest ERA in a half of a season, it's collapsing if you lose with him on the mound. Not to mention the Cubs had a better record the 2nd half of the season than the Pirates.

Brett Gardner CF
Chris Young LF
Carlos Beltran RF
Alex Rodriguez DH
Brian McCann C
Chase Headley 3B
Greg Bird 1B
Rob Refsnyder 2B
Didi Gregorius SS

RHP Masahiro Tanaka

Ellsbury out of the lineup. Called that.

Also, Refsnyder at 2nd

So just so I'm clear...cubs are pitching their ace, priates are throwing theirs. But if the cubs lose, on the road, we're calling it a collapse?

You're talking about 4 games in the loss column and the cubs arguably had a much tougher first half than 2nd half.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be heart breaking, or gut wrenching, but sometimes you just get beat and it's not a collapse. Especially to a guy who holds an 8-1 record against you.

Can't believe no ellsbury

Home run call for RR is "the Seoul of Korea" I think

Gardner's home run call is "Gardy goes YARDY! Brett Gardner PLANTS one in the right field bleachers!"

He's not terrible against lefties. Neither is Gardner, really.

But Ellsbury swings at so many first pitches and is more prone to having terrible at bats than Gardner. I think that's the reason for the decision, because Chris Young was playing over one of them either way.

Yankees need to have very patient at bats - can probably get Keuchel out of the game at around 90 pitches seeing as he's on short rest. Agree that Gardy better at working the count than Ellsbury but hopefully with extended at bats Keuchel doesn't go longer than 6-plus.

Will road Keuchel rear it's ugly head tonight? That's the million dollar question.
