Figured Vogelbach would be moved. No room for him with the big club.

the yankees are in a position to seriously compete again by 2018, with the contracts that are coming off the books after this year and next year. miller is a valuable piece who is under contract through that season.

if you get a huge haul offered for him, then sure, take it. but he's really good. no reason to sell just to sell.

2018 is Miller's last year and will be 33, you keep Betance since he is young and under control longer

You haven't won the World Series in 108 yrs!! frick the farm....if you can get Miller and or Chapman you more than likely win the World Series....this is not a hard decision to make. Trade Schwarber, he ain't playing this year anyway...trade your top prospects for a championship. I can't believe Cubs fans are thinking about the future...win one now while you can.

The Cubs are not going to win a World Series based on Aroldis Chapman or Andrew Miller's arm. They work one inning a game. Mike Montgomery is murdering left handed hitting and the Cubs gave up a lot to get him. It's a fair price for a cost controlled, team controlled dominant left handed bullpen or future starting option into 2019.

If the Yankees want Kyle Schwarber for Aroldis Chapman or Andrew Miller, I'm definitely fine with them saying thanks but no thanks. Kyle Schwarber's bat is going to be a cornerstone of the Cubs and I don't blame them one bit for holding fast.

I just read a little more on Mike Montgomery...and I was wrong about one thing. He's under cheap team control until 2021, not 2019. Which is EVEN better.

But let's also analyze the trade a little more, especially Vogelbach. He's been a tremendous hitter and has increased his stock dramatically this year at Iowa, however the Cubs needed to trade him almost as badly as they needed to make the trade for a bullpen arm. I say that because Vogelbach had value, but not to the Cubs. Not very much anyway.

The way I see it, they dealt Vogelbach while selling high on him. He was a player that had no future with the club and they got a legitimate bullpen/starter under cheap control until 2021.

If the Yankees get realistic, they can get good value for these guys. If they demand front line starter value for them, they aren't going to move them.

You also haven't gotten to the point they have been in the past two years with being caviler with their prospects. Schwarber is a stud... a young first rounder with good numbers in his big league experience. Just because he is injured doesn't mean you give him up, not for a bullpen guy. If you are getting a Kershaw, maybe...

No championship is guaranteed. You don't trade your top prospects for what remains a chance. If it doesn't work out this year, then you are that much further behind next year.

Well they aren't going to win the World Series with any one piece. But this is a clear hole on what is the best team in baseball.

I like Montgomery but he isn't quite as reliable as those guys would be in the heat of a postseason game. Coming up he did have a similar profile to Miller, so maybe he'll keep improving. I think he's more of a Jeremy affeldt tyor

Would I give up Scwarber to get one of those Yankees. Yea, probably. But I understand the reasoning.
